Cuff It Up

Groovy cuff bracelets are all the rage as demonstrated by my oh so stylish childhood friends at a recent jaunt back to my hometown for a birthday celebration. I can always count on these gals to be true original trendsetters. The look they were sporting is oh so rocker chic worn with denim and a hipster top.
Check out the Silver Dot Contour Cuff by John Hardy. I love the very rocker chic design. My gal pal had this version in 14K gold and sterling silver.
Since I'm not big into faux Jewelery I recommend you try getting a good deal on the real stuff at places like Bluefly if you don't want to splurge. I think this sterling cuff by Argento Vivo is a good steal and deal. It's priced at only $191. compared to the John Hardy Cuffs which range from $795. and up.

And please remember that Gold Vermeil and Rhodium are oh so cheesy. Just opt for to Sterling, Wood, Enamel etc. or go without. For example this Kenneth Jay Lane light brown wood stretch bracelet blows away any kind of dipped gold thingamajiggy. The price is hot too for a mere $27. you've got yourself a true cool statement piece.

The Bag Closet

I'm a self confessed bagaholic. I'll admit it. I love handbags. It's hard to resist getting a new one each season. Although, this year I challenged myself to hold off as long as possible. The goal was to be better at switching it up.

Well I did it. First, I dug out my lovely buttery soft, toffee colored Bulga bag with the fringe only to be greeted by tons of compliments. And it just so happens that the bag has just the right amount of fringe which is big for fall. So on the mark.

Second I dug out an older Isabella Fiore woven handbag. Again this bag is perfect for this time of year. I also felt I was paying homage to the late Isabella Fiore line. I did and do love those bags. Oh the days of long gone by.

I even dug out an old Marc Jacobs from before he was so in and every suburban Mom had one. I also took out a more popular version in this lovely shade of pinkish purple. It looks just like the versions still sold in Neimans. Funny how that happens.

My metallic Kooba got the most compliments with metallics always so popular in the summer. The style was a little obscure with it being an older model so it was really fun to wear.

I challenge you girls. Do it. Dig out your older bags. It's somewhat freeing. Not to mention you'll be different, because you'll have to think about what you're doing. Everyone else will look like clones carrying the latest and greatest at a store near you.

Botkie Sample Sale

I just love this time a year. Fabulous Sample Sales are popping up all over the city. What's a gal to do. Run now. Don't walk. The Botkier Sample Sale ends today. I hit it up earlier in the week and can assure you there are some good finds. The small Bella bag runs about $175. and the Bella Clutch only $75. What a steal. The line's a little long but it's definitely worth the wait. They keep restocking the room and there is a second floor with extra special mark downs.

All you gals out of the city limits should keep your eyes peeled for Botkier's website sale which is sure to be coming soon.

Tory Burch Sample Sale

Don't miss the non advertised Tory Burch Sample Sale advanced opening by Clothingline starting today at 261 West 36th Street, 2nd floor, (between 7 & 8 Avenue). The doors open at 10am to a selection of tunics, skirts, dresses and shoes. Wedges will range from $99. to $125. The heatwave should feel like 108 degrees in the city. I still think it's worth the trip. The shoes are a little too popular and for good reason. I love my Metallic Sailor Wedges that I snagged on sale off the Tory Burch website for $177. (orig. $295.) but nothing can beat the offerings that Clothingline brings you.
This will be a sample sale not to miss. Go early to avoid the crowds.
I told you it would start a day or two early.
